For most all users, the VueTools Manager will automate the installation of VueTools and the wxPython libraries for both Macs and PCs.
Sometimes it might be necessary to manually install VueTools. For instance if you use Vue xStream, or have problems using VueTools Manager.
Locating and Saving the ZIP files
All the files required to run VueTools are in two .zip files. You can run VueTools Manager and shift-click the Install VueTools button and you will be prompted for a folder to save the VueTools.zip archive to. Also, when you shift-click the Install wxPython button, you will be similarly prompted for a folder to save the wxPythonPC.zip or wxPythonMac.zip archives-- depending on your platform.
VueTools.zip
Next, unzip the VueTools.zip archive with folder structure intact. If you right click on it and choose Extract All... it will create a single folder called VueTools with a couple of other folders and the VueToolbar.py python script in it. So, to be clear: The VueTools.zip file will unzip to a single folder called VueTools. Place that folder in the same directory as the Vue 6 Infinite application. For PC users the Vue6 Infinite application folder will be something like:
C:\Program Files\e-on software\Vue 6 Infinite
For Mac Users it should be in your Applications Directory in a folder called Vue 6 Infinite.
wxPython for PC
On PC, unzip the wxPythonPC.zip to your desktop. This is done by right-clicking it and chosing the 'Extract All' command.
Now you should have a folder named 'wxPythonPC' on your desktop.
In that folder is a folder named 'Python.' Now you can drag the Python folder to your installed application folder:
C:\Program Files\e-on software\Vue 6 Infinite
You will get a Confirm Replace dialog-- just answer 'Yes to All.' That's all there is to it. wxPython is now installed on Vue6 for PC.
wxPython for Mac
Unzip the wxPythonMac.zip file. It will unzip to a folder called Python. Inside this folder you will find two other wx-prefixed folders which need to be copied to the Vue Python folder, which is inside the Vue Applications folder.
Go to your Vue Applications folder and open the folder called Python. Copy the two wx-prefixed folders into this folder.
